Willowbrook Cemetery is the second most historic cemetery in South Carolina, and is overflowing with “residents” who carved their place in local, state, and national history.

 

Oakley Park

The grand house that is now Oakley Park Museum was built by Daniel Bird Jr., a preeminent planter, in 1835. After the Civil War, Brigadier General Martin W. Gary, CSA, a tenacious politician and orator purchased the home and practiced law in Edgefield. The house and museum are managed by the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

 

Edgefield Discovery Center and Museum 

405 Main Street

This historic building, once the home of Captain James Miller, was built in ca. 1840. It was moved to its present location in the 1990s and was transformed into a museum with state-of-the-art exhibits detailing Edgefield County's diverse history.
